Step 1 – Make an inventory of every item you have and put them into categories of your choice, a lot of people do this by color, anything you no longer need throw it out. You will be left with piles on the floor no doubt but you will have a better idea of how much space you need to store everything.

Step 2 – Determine where you do your scrapbooking, if you are lucky enough to have your own scrapbooking room, great, but the vast majority generally just uses a table. Is their a space available close to your working area you can use? This will save you time, if not search your home and determine a suitable area to use.

Do you have somewhere to store everything, draws etc or do you need to purchase storage boxes, a filing cabinet or a set of scrapbooking draws? Don’t forget you need to leave room for expansion because you are certain to buy more supplies to store.

Step 3 – Planning. What do you use most often? These items need to be the most accessible. Those items you use less often need not be immediately to hand. This step will save you countless time, you will be able to just open your storage area, collect the items you need and start straight away.

Step 4 – Take action. Put everything away, even if you are going to use them right now, sit back and admire your handiwork.
